Dimple Soni is an architect, designer, design educator and critic with over 22 years of experience in the field of design.

She studied Design Criticism from the School of Visual Arts, New York. Previously she did her graduation in architecture from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. After working as an architect for a few years, she did faculty development program in furniture and interior design from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She has been a faculty member in industrial design department at NID, and has led exhibition design discipline.

Apart from teaching various design related courses at bachelor and master level, she has led and contributed to several institutional consultancy projects, including redesign of Gujarat Central Library, Gandhinagar. She has also contributed to Bamboo research cell at NID and has conducted training programs at grass-root level for master craftsmen at Bamboo and Cane Development Institute, Agartala.

Lately, she led the Foundation Design Program for Industrial Design, at the Institut Supérieur de Design Rubika, DSK International campus, Pune.

Currently, she is a senior faculty member and co-lead of Design Foundation Studies. Simultaneously, she also co-head the Centre for Bamboo Initiatives, Ahmedabad campus.
