Hitesh Chaurasia holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cinema with Specialization in Sound (2003-2006) from Satyajit Ray film and TV Institute Kolkata and M.Sc. in Mathematics from Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University Sagar (M.P.). He has more than a decade of professional experience as independent Sound Designer and filmmaker in Mumbai, with 15 feature films, many documentary, shorts, Radio Drama and web series to his credit. He has been associated with projects of Fox Films, BBC Radio, NFDC, PSBT, TISS, Y films, 92.7 BIG FM, Kaleidoscope, Channel V and Sony Mix. Some of his films have been screened at Toronto Intentional film festival, Berlin International Film Festival, Imagine Film Festival Amsterdam, Durban International Film Festival, Indian Panorama IFFI and won awards in various categories. He has also won multiple awards including V. Shantaram Best Sound Award for feature film Gajar and Screen best Sound award nomination for Bhopal a Prayer for Rain.

He has been an academic council member of SRFTI and conducting workshop/lectures at various institutes like symbiosis institute of Design Pune and Sound Ideas Academy Mumbai. He is founder of Dantkatha Media, which explores possibilities of sound in various mediums and create digital content. Second Best his short film as writer/director has been selected in Toronto International Film Festival of South Asia and 20th International Children Film Festival of India. He has also produced and directed a web series. He presently serves as Faculty in the discipline of Film and Video Communication, NID Ahmedabad.
