Jagriti P. Galphade is currently Coordinating Science & Liberal and Co-coordinating Interaction Design Discipline at NID. She has over 15 years of experience in Design Education & Design Industry. After completing an MA Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting) from Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Jagriti went on to pursue an Advanced Diploma in Computer Arts from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune.

She has also worked in the industry in the field of e-learning. She has helped develop learning modules, including those for the K-12 programmes, which catered to target audiences as varied as the corporate sector and heritage projects. She joined NID under the Faculty Development Programme in 2004.

Currently, she teaches postgraduate students at NID Bengaluru courses such as Design Drawing, Colour & composition, Introduction to Aesthetics, Introduction to Narrative, Storyboard Design, Digital Media & Visualization, and Prototyping techniques for the digital Media etc. in The M.Des program of Interaction Design, SLA and Foundation Program, among others. Her efforts for coordinating and organizing workshops and inviting experts for developing the digital/virtual prototyping ability of students in Interaction Design program are pivotal.

She has done presentation in several seminars and workshops both outside as well as for NID’s Industry sponsored workshops. The presentations vary from topics on Basic Design, Participatory Approach in Design and Research in Sociology, Prototyping a tool for Product Design & Innovation etc. She is also on a review committee for reputed National & International Conferences in HCI. Communication is the key for designers, keeping this in mind she is continuously working towards developing the story telling ability of the students in using multimedia & the moving image.

Jagriti has keen interest in Design pedagogy for the masters program in Design and has participated in the curriculum development of the new disciplines in IT Integrated department at NID. She is presently working on a research project “Littering behaviour of Passenger and Staff on Indian Railways” where she is bringing the insights on the behaviour of the stakeholders while travelling on train & developing possible solutions through design intervention.

Jagriti is also an acclaimed voiceover artist in the broadcast media.
