Pravinsinh Solanki is an Associate Senior Faculty at NID. Solanki currently Heads the Skill Development Labs, Staff Evaluation & Development Committee and In- chair for SwachhataPakhwadacommitte.

Solanki teaches courses like Design Thinking, Space planning, Furniture Design, Collapsibility, Construction and Fabrication, Materials, Sustainable hands-on workshops,and Bamboo Craft.  An alumnus of NID with Master in Furniture and Interior Design,Solanki  hascumulative 15 years of work experience inIndia and Italy on various  Interior, Retail Design, Craft , Product, Sustainable, skill development and design innovation in Crafts.He joined NID in 2013.

His bamboo products, especially “Hangers”have found a proud place in World Bamboo Museum, Damyong, South Korea, "Design: The India Story”,ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharajVastuSangrahalaya, Mumbai, The Design Gallery, Raw Collaborative 2018 Ahmedabad, World Bamboo Congress 2018, Xalapa Mexico,“Reunion Islands”,“Day Linne” Bamboo for Paris and at London by Raw Collaborative - Design Social in association with Imbyou.For his innovative bamboo products has received “Best Product Design Award of the year” for Home décor category from Interior Lifestyle Awards 2018, Ambiente 2019 Messe Frankfurt Germany and CII Design Excellence awards for the year 2017 and 2018 and also Trendz Awards 2018. 

His work has also been featured in popular magazines like Architectural Digest, Elle Decor IFJ, The Ideal Home and Garden, Trends and Architecture Update, various newspapers and television. 

Solanki is also the founder of Scrap Design Innovation through which he inspires people to Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. He has conducted many courses and workshops in India and abroad to educate the masses about conserving resources and creatingWealth out of Waste. 

Solanki was a Jury member for India Design mark, Skill India and various Design schools. He is also a TEDX 2018 speaker and has spoken at various national and international Design conferences.
